Lecture Series

Astrology for Yourself
Wednesday, May 7, 2008 :: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Members: Free. Non-members: $10. Philip Covitz

Most people are familiar with astrology from their Sun sign, which is determined by your birthday, or reading their horoscope in a daily newspaper. But the Sun sign is only one small part of one's astrological makeup. The other planets also play a crucial role in delineating our personalities and steering us toward our destinies. The Moon sign symbolizes our unconscious or "yin" side. Mercury's place in the horoscope describes how we think; Venus, how we love; Mars, how we fight.

This lecture will be an introductory "crash course" on astrology basics. Learn about the basic principles of astrology, the meanings of the signs, planets, and houses, and how to interpret your own birth chart. Attendees are encouraged to bring a copy of their own horoscope to class for reference. Other handouts/materials will be provided. You can get a free copy of your horoscope on the Internet (e.g., www.astro.com, www.janspiller.com), or e-mail your birth info (date, time, place) to Phil Covitz at phil.covitz@comcast.net before May 6.

If this lecture whets your appetite for more deeper understanding of astrology, you can sign up for the Center's 3-part Introduction to Astrology class, which also takes place in May.
